Genesis said on Tuesdayit has completed worldwide testing of the GV60 Magma, the brand’s first high-performance electric vehicle, after subjecting the model to extreme conditions ahead of its market debut.
The Hyundai Motor Group-owned luxury brand said the validation program was carried out in diverse environments including Swedish snow, California deserts, New Zealand’s mountain terrain, and Korea’s tracks and public roads. The evaluations focused on power output, chassis stability, traction, braking, and overall driving dynamics.

Final tests in Korea included urban streets, highways, mountain routes, and laps at the Inje Speedium Circuit, assessing whether the vehicle could balance acceleration, comfort, and handling across a wide range of driving conditions.
Set to launch as Genesis marks its 10th anniversary, the GV60 Magma will represent the automaker’s first entry into the luxury high-performance EV market. The company said the model’s development follows Hyundai Motor Group’s established global testing standards, which also include facilities at the Nürburgring in Germany.
