Norwegian electric vehicle (EV) charging company Wattif has rapidly expanded from a single-market startup in 2021 to managing more than 45,000 charge points across six European countries, the company said on Tuesday. Partnering with EV charging management platform AMPECO, Wattif reported a 370% revenue increase while consolidating eight legacy systems into a unified platform to support pan-European operations.
Wattif’s expansion covers Norway, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Ireland, and the UK, including recent strategic acquisitions such as BilLader AS, EFUEL, Charge365, Laddel, and Mer Norway’s housing cooperative portfolio. Andreas Strand, CEO of Wattif, highlighted the role of AMPECO’s system in the growth: “The due diligence we did last year just confirmed it: AMPECO was a good choice three years ago — and it’s still the right choice today.”
The migration of more than 35,000 charge points to AMPECO’s platform was carried out without service interruptions, a key factor in maintaining operational continuity. Stian Skauge, Operations Lead at Wattif, said, “AMPECO’s modularity lets us adapt for each market without rebuilding the entire system.” The platform’s flexible tariff modules, dynamic load management, and roaming capabilities allowed Wattif to optimize energy use, support grid stability, and develop new revenue streams.
Looking ahead, Wattif is leveraging AMPECO’s tools for innovation, including AI-powered customer support, custom web portals for ad-hoc payments, and vehicle-to-grid pilot projects using OCPP 2.0. The company said 96% of its 2026 rollout is already secured, positioning Wattif for continued growth in the European EV charging market.
