Geely Auto’s sub-brand Geely Galaxy has launched the M9, a large six-seat hybrid SUV priced from RMB 173,800 ($24,470) after discounts, undercutting rivals in China’s competitive full-size SUV market. The starting price is significantly lower than the pre-sale figure of RMB 193,800.
The M9 is offered in six variants, with two entry-level versions equipped with basic driver assistance features priced at RMB 183,800 and RMB 198,800. Four higher-spec versions come with Geely’s G-Pilot H5 smart driving system, priced between RMB 192,800 and RMB 248,800.

Customers who order before October 31 will receive a RMB 10,000 discount, effectively lowering the price range to RMB 173,800–238,800. Analysts note such temporary discounts often become permanent in China’s price-sensitive auto sector.
At half the price of Li Auto’s Li L9 extended-range EV, which starts at RMB 409,800, the M9 offers similar dimensions and a claimed combined range of up to 1,500 km. Deutsche Bank analyst Wang Bin’s team described the SUV’s competitive pricing as its core advantage, projecting average monthly sales of around 5,000 units.

Built on Geely’s Electric Architecture Evo (GEA Evo), the M9 measures 5,205 mm in length with a 3,030 mm wheelbase, close to the Li L9’s dimensions. It is available with 18.4 kWh or 41.46 kWh battery packs, offering WLTC ranges of 85 km or 185 km.
The cabin features the industry’s first AI-agent-driven cockpit, branded Agent OS, according to Geely Galaxy. The top version delivers 640 kW of power and 1,165 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

The M9 follows other aggressively priced launches from Geely Galaxy, including the updated E5 electric SUV and A7 hybrid sedan, underscoring the company’s strategy to capture share in China’s crowded new energy vehicle market.
