China EV Marketplace said on Friday it is introducing a new service for European customers that will allow them to buy Chinese-made battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) and have them delivered directly to their doors, removing the need to handle customs paperwork and collect vehicles from ports.
“For the first time, EV enthusiasts across Europe can order a new Chinese BEV or PHEV directly from China and have it delivered directly to their door. Our new service removes the traditional complexities and headaches associated with international car imports,” said Jakub Gersl, Chief Operating Officer of China EV Marketplace.
At the same time, the company said it will stop shipping to the United States due to falling demand, citing tariffs that have left sales below 30 vehicles this year, largely for benchmarking purposes.
China EV Marketplace, which describes itself as the largest e-commerce platform for Chinese EVs globally, sold 7,000 units in the first half of 2025, up 66% from a year earlier. Growth was driven mainly by PHEVs, which avoid additional European Union tariffs of up to 35% that apply to BEVs and extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).
The company noted that EREV sales had been “decimated” by tariffs since they are classified as BEVs. “EREV is basically a BEV with an additional internal combustion engine not connected to the wheels and working only as a power generator for the battery,” the company said.
The announcement comes as Chinese automakers expand their presence in Europe. Market researcher JATO Dynamics reported in June that Chinese brands doubled their European market share in May, with registrations rising 111% to 65,808 vehicles, accounting for 5.9% of total sales, up from 2.9% a year earlier.
