Honda is poised to introduce its much-anticipated 2024 Honda Prologue. Having initially unveiled the EV nearly a year ago, the Japanese automaker has now disclosed additional details and specifications for the electric SUV, shedding light on its expected range and more.
The Prologue’s interior showcases a contemporary Honda design, characterized by a sleek low dash, a minimalist appearance, and a full-width air vent design. It features an 11-inch instrument screen and an 11.3-inch infotainment screen, with the convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard offerings.
In terms of size, the Prologue occupies the space between Honda’s CR-V and Pilot models. It promises generous interior space, boasting 136.9 cubic feet, with 25.2 cubic feet of storage available behind the rear seats and an expanded 57.7 cubic feet when the seats are folded down. Notably, there is no front trunk (frunk) option.
Underneath its sleek exterior, the Honda Prologue is built on the GM Ultium EV architecture, a foundation that provides the basis for two distinct powertrain options. The standard configuration includes a single-motor, rear-drive setup, while an optional dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system will also be on the menu. Both configurations share an 85-kWh battery pack capable of rapid charging at 155 kW. Honda’s estimations project that the most efficient Prologue variant will achieve an impressive 300 miles (483 kilometers) on a single charge.
The dual-motor variant flexes its muscles with 288 horsepower and a robust 333 pound-feet of torque. Honda has invested effort in fine-tuning the suspension to deliver an engaging driving experience.
The 2024 Prologue will be available in three trim levels. The base EX comes with front-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, heated cloth seats, dual-zone climate control, and the convenience of wireless device charging. Stepping up to the Touring trim level adds luxurious leather seats, a memory function for the driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, and more. The Elite trim, the top tier, introduces all-wheel drive, 21-inch wheels, ventilated leather seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and a sport drive mode.
As part of its customer-centric approach, Honda will include three charging packages as standard with all Prologue models. Buyers can choose from an 11.5-kW home charger package, complete with installation incentives, a portable charging kit with installation credits and public charging credits, or simply opt for $750 in public charging credits.
While final pricing remains undisclosed, Honda has indicated that the Prologue will start in the upper US$40,000 range. Enthusiasts and prospective buyers can mark their calendars as the 2024 Honda Prologue is slated to arrive at dealerships in the first quarter of 2024.
