The latest generation of the BMW 5 Series will most likely be launched in 2023. In addition to coming with conventional engine variants, the BMW 5 Series will also come with an electric-tech variant which will be referred to as the i5. Even this BMW i5 has conducted road tests at the Nurburgring Circuit, Germany.
This BMW i5 is still covered in camouflage stickers. But by naked eye, it is more or less similar to the BMW 5 Series generation which has not yet been launched which will come with various significant changes in accordance with the breath of modern BMW.
The grille pad still retains the Double Kidney Grill model which is enlarged to the side with the silhouette of the placement of the M emblem on the inside of one of the grills. Then what is also easy to see is the use of M-colored brake calipers on the front which makes this car suitable for “Performance Oriented”.
Then on the sides and rear, there are still more or less leaks of the latest BMW 5 series which shows a car that prioritizes evolution rather than a complete revolution. As well as the placement of the number plate holder which is maintained in the trunk door compared to the bottom of the bumper like the latest BMW 7 Series and i7.
However, in terms of the engine and drivetrain, BMW does not want to give more in-depth leaks. But most likely the BMW i5 will have performance like the M5 but with the advantage of no engine noise and more environmentally friendly. Later the BMW i5 will be equipped with 2 electric motors, the specifications of which have not yet been disclosed.
And last but not least, the BMW i5 will use the latest BMW Neue Klasse platform which is designed for the use of environmentally friendly electrified cars. This platform is used in the latest 7 Series and i7 which was present in mid-2022 yesterday. And later this platform will also be used for the BMW 3 Series EV which is also being prepared. It will be interesting to see the original form of this BMW i5 and the new 5 Series which may be launched together.
