The Jeep Renegade 4xe is one of Jeep’s first Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) electric car technologies.
This Jeep’s smallest hybrid car was launched with the Jeep Compass 4xe for the European market since last July 2020.
Indeed, for the European market, the Jeep Compass 4xe and the Jeep Renegade 4xe are both produced at the Stellantis Melfi factory in Basilicata, Italy.
The Jeep Renegade 4xe was developed from the FCA Small Wide 4×4 platform like other Jeep Renegades.
But what distinguishes the Renegade 4xe from other Renegade is a turbo four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 1,332 cc combined with electric drive.
Jeep offers two engine power options for the Renegade 4xe. For the Limited and Longitude variants, power is claimed to shoot out 130 hp, while for the Trailhawk variant it is 180 hp.
As for torque, the 130 hp and 180 hp versions both give off a peak torque of 270 Nm.
Then for the electric motor, Jeep embeds the Renegade 4xe, an electric motor on the rear axle that delivers 60 hp and 250 Nm of torque.
