Zeekr has revealed their latest creation, the 001 FR, positioning it as a formidable contender against the Tesla Model S Plaid. The 001 FR boasts a quad motor powertrain delivering an astonishing 1,248 horsepower (930 kW / 1,265 PS) and a staggering 944 lb-ft (1,280 Nm) of torque, rivaling hypercar specifications. Impressively, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just 2.07 seconds under a “rolling start scenario.”
While the acceleration is undeniably rapid, the 001 FR's top speed is capped at 174 mph (280 km/h). While not breaking any records in this department, it's important to note that the Tesla Model S Plaid can achieve a higher top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).
To manage the extreme power and performance, Zeekr has incorporated innovative features such as “straight waterfall oil cooling technology” and rear motors encased in lightweight carbon fiber. It's worth mentioning that the peak performance mode is accessible for a brief 10-second burst, and only when the vehicle's battery has more than a 50% charge.
The electric power for the 001 FR is sourced from a substantial 100 kWh battery pack featuring cutting-edge 800V technology and a “multifunctional elastic interlayer” that significantly enhances energy density, heat dissipation, and overall safety. While specific range figures were not disclosed, Zeekr asserts that the battery can charge from 10% to 80% capacity in a mere 15 minutes.
Continuing the performance-oriented approach, the quad motor powertrain not only ensures rapid acceleration but also remarkable handling, with the ability to generate 1.4 G's of lateral grip in corners. Moreover, the innovative setup permits the vehicle to execute “tank turns,” a maneuver where the wheels on one side turn forward while the wheels on the opposite side turn in reverse. When activated, this feature allows the vehicle to perform a full 360-degree spin.

The enhancements extend beyond the powertrain, with the 001 FR sporting a high-performance braking system equipped with ten-piston AP Racing front calipers that grip onto substantial 16.5-inch (420 mm) Brembo carbon ceramic front discs. At the rear, four-piston calipers are paired with 16.1-inch (410 mm) discs for balanced stopping power.
In terms of aesthetics, the 001 FR showcases an aggressive carbon fiber body kit featuring a front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a sizable rear wing. These aerodynamic elements are complemented by a carbon fiber roof, mirror caps, and imposing 22-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in high-performance rubber.
