Tech giant Xiaomi has confirmed the company's plans to start mass production of their first car.
Through uploads on social media, Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun has confirmed several details that the company will do.
It was explained that the mass production of Xiaomi cars is projected to start in the first half of 2024.
Lei Jun also said that the development of Xiaomi's electric car manufacturing has made very good progress. In fact everything was progressing faster than expected.
But he also saw that there were some concerns that Xiaomi would shift its production focus from smartphones to cars.
This concern arises given the large investment from companies to enter the automotive industry.
“Mobile devices will continue to be Xiaomi's number one priority even after cars become available to first customers,” said Lei Jun
As of now, it is not known whether Xiaomi plans to join forces with other automakers for vehicle production.
But this is very possible, because reportedly the project was also supported by a car maker based in China.
