As Tesla continues to showcase its highly anticipated Cybertruck at select showrooms in California ahead of the upcoming delivery event, details about the electric pickup's capabilities are gradually emerging. This week, an advertisement near Tesla's showroom at the UTC mall in San Diego provided a sneak peek into the Cybertruck's payload and towing capacities.

According to the displayed sign, the Cybertruck boasts an impressive payload capacity of up to 2,500 pounds and a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds. While the specific truck configuration to which these ratings apply remains unclear, the revelation provides enthusiasts with a glimpse into the capabilities of Tesla's latest electric vehicle.

The sign further highlights key features of the Cybertruck, including adaptive air suspension with on-road and off-road drive modes, the ultra-hard stainless-steel exoskeleton, and shatter-resistant glass. These features, combined with the notable towing and payload capacities, position the Cybertruck competitively within the evolving electric truck sector.

Comparatively, Ford's F-150 Lightning, another contender in the electric truck arena, boasts a towing capacity of up to 10,000 pounds and a payload capacity of 2,235 pounds, as per information on Ford's official page. Rivian's R1T, a fellow player in the electric truck market, is reported to feature a payload capacity of 1,764 pounds and a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds.

Despite the Cybertruck's public appearances, Tesla has yet to release official specifications and pricing details, with the exception of revealing the electric vehicle's 800-volt charging architecture during the Q3 earnings call last month.

Anonymous sources have reportedly leaked additional information about the Cybertruck, including a photo showcasing power outlets in the truck bed and suggestions of dual- and tri-motor configurations. With Tesla's delivery event scheduled for November 30 at Gigafactory Texas, more details about the Cybertruck are anticipated to be unveiled, providing a comprehensive overview of this groundbreaking electric pickup.
