The BYD Yuan Plus was first introduced at the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show in China, and has attracted widespread attention from young consumers. This electric SUV marks a new era of BYD promising increased power, new design language and excellent battery range.
The design of the BYD Yuan Plus adopts the Dragon Face 3.0 design language, while the interior is sporty. The car is equipped with an electric motor that produces 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque.
This electric SUV will come in two options. The entry-level is available in ‘standard' with a range of 250 miles (402 km) and a 50 kWh battery, while the Premium variant is available in long range with a range of 310 miles (500 km) and a battery of 60 kWh.
The BYD Yuan Plus offers a large space similar to an A-segment SUV with a wheelbase of about 2.7 meters. BYD's revolutionary Blade Battery technology will come standard in cars, offering drivers an industry-leading level of safety, longer cycle life and extensive single charge range capabilities.
BYD Yuan Plus stands on the E-platform 3.0 platform, which is designed for the next generation of high-performance smart EVs and offers four key advantages: safety, efficiency, intelligence and aesthetics. The platform will further integrate and standardize core components in the new body structure, digital and electric architecture, and the new BYD vehicle operating system.
BYD's own Blade Battery increases the level of safety for EVs while increasing battery pack space utilization by more than 50%, compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate block batteries. This helps reduce the total weight of the car, which in turn increases energy efficiency and range.
